Royal Enfield is working on a new line of motorcycles powered by a liquid-cooled 450cc single-cylinder engine, as captured in recent spy shots from southern Europe. The engine is expected to produce around 44 horsepower and will fit between the current air/oil-cooled 350cc singles and the larger 650cc parallel twins in the company’s lineup. The first bike to feature this engine is rumored to be the Himalayan 450, a mid-size adventure bike targeting models such as the KTM 390. A second version, dubbed the Scram 450, is also in development and is expected to have a scrambler-inspired design. It is not yet clear when these bikes will be released or their prices.
